Just came back from Madrid

I just came back from a short journey to Madrid. Well, the city is simply amazing, the people are very friendly and fortunately the hostel was placed in the real centre of the city, in a street named “Gran Via”, very close to la Puerta del Sol and the main touristic attractions (Prado Museum, Reina Sofia Museum, Thyessen gallery, Parco del Buen Ritiro, Atocha Central Station and much more). We slept there for two nights, from Friday to Sunday.

When we arrived at the hostel, we said we were Italian and everybody at the reception loughed off Berlusconi. What a shame to be Italian when you travel! After all, It has been a good opportunity to speak a bit of university base Spanish. Low cost airplanes are nice, but seats are a bit tight. The weather was luckily good, 18° with rare sudden rains. Prices were sensibly cheaper than Milan, and the famous “movida” really exists.

Sure, I took pictures, and I’m working on it (up here you can see a little preview).

Cleanup Mission: stage #1 completed!

Hi dudes! Cleanup Mission keeps on going straight to the target! In the last two days I deleted 3.719 images from my Flickr account. Now, 3.262 pictures are present. The target is to reach quote 2.000 (less is better, but I’ll see). It is incredibly strange to discover the trash a photographer creates in a couple of years … I’m pretty sure you won’t miss my “trash”. Results are still visible: better navigation, better shots, better ideas.

A little summary of the workflow:

mission starts from —> 6.981 pics —> 3.262 —> 2.000 (c.a.) pics —> add tags to images —> find out a better “sets” and “collections” organization —> fix the blog with missing images —> optimize and speed up the blog (it’s so slow, isn’t it?)

If you can’t see embed images on the blog, don’t worry: I’ll fix the issuu once I cleaned my Flickr portfolio.

Scanography, also spelled scannography more commonly referred to as scanner photography, is the process of capturing digitized images of objects for the purpose of creating printable art using a flatbed “photo” scanner with a CCD array capturing device. The term scanography formerly referred to medical scanning, but is unrealated in either purpose or technique. Fine art scanography differs from traditional document scanning by using atypical objects, often three dimensional, as well as from photography, due to the nature of the scanner’s operation.
