Hi buddies, I just activated a Flavors.me account. Now you can follow my “social stream” (Facebook notes, Flickr photos, Youtube videos, blog posts and much more) from just one page.

I and my MAGMUSIC! colleagues Luca and Francesca have been interviewed about the communication techniques  we used in our “one year old” online music magazine.

Intervista al Team di Magmusic

Rispondono Francesca Avallone, Luca Zanoncelli e Zonk Volta

Quando nasce il progetto MagMusic?
[LZ] – Il progetto MAGMUSIC! nasce a tutti gli effetti a dicembre 2008, poco più di un anno fa, con i primi “test posts” sul sito magmusic.info. Da Febbraio 2009 siamo completamente operativi.

Cosa vi ha spinto ad intraprendere questa avventura editoriale?

[FA] – Abbiamo iniziato per amore della musica, della fotografia e del giornalismo “vecchio stampo”. Tre ragazzi laureati in comunicazione multimediale  si uniscono per creare uno spazio online dove approfondire tematiche musicali, anche per questo il progetto è senza scopo di lucro.

[ZV] Ci piace entrare nel cuore della discussione, andare oltre gli standard stilistici e tematici del genere “Music Magazine”. A noi poco importano le notizie dell’ultima ora: su Magmusic.info troverete inchieste ed interviste, corredate da materiali audio e video originali (girati da noi).

Come cerca di distinguersi Magmusic dal panorama dei magazine online?

[ZV]- Chi entra nel sito capisce subito che il nostro obbiettivo non è quello di dare notizie che “muoiono” dopo due giorni, bensì quello di creare delle “fotografie” sullo scenario musicale che, per definizione, durino negli anni. Moltissimi articoli infatti vengono letti e riletti dai visitatori in maniera costante nel tempo, e questo significa che il nostro obbiettivo è stato raggiunto. Anche la modalità dell’intervista è peculiare.

[FA] Evitiamo la formalità e ci piace far nascere dibattiti appassionati con gli artisti, più che interviste standard. Quando si sentono coinvolti dal tema, gli interessa anche il nostro parere e quindi l’intervista si può trasformare da un momento all’altro in una chiacchierata tra persone che condividono un mondo, quello della musica. Il risultato è positivo.

Un anno di attività: che obiettivi avete raggiunto?

[LZ] – Siamo molto felici dei numeri e della credibiltà che in questo primo anno abbiamo acquisito. In giro c’è addirittura qualcuno che si spaccia per noi e chiede accrediti stampa. Ci hanno clonato il sito. Fare cose fatte bene a volte crea malumori nel settore. Siamo felici che gente come Povia, Guè Pequeno o Vaccaman abbia creduto nel nostro progetto sin dall’inizio, quando nel sito c’erano tre articoli e la maggior parte degli accessi erano i nostri. Potevano decidere di non accettare l’intervista, li avremmo capiti. Invece ci hanno voluto incontrare, saperne di più sul progetto e contribuire a farlo crescere. In realtà le porte in faccia sono state molte, in particolare per il rilascio degli accrediti. Quando non riceviamo risposte, andiamo avanti.

[FA] Acquistiamo i biglietti dei concerti e i dischi perchè da bravi appassionati di musica la finanziamo volentieri nel nostro piccolo. Abbiamo ricevuto altrettanti inviti a perseverare, da esperti del settore. Il team di Mag Music ha iniziato da zero. E pensare che siamo soltanto in tre (Emanuele, Francesca e Luca), tutti e tre scriviamo e oltre a questo ognuno di noi hai un compito “pratico” ben preciso (fotografie, video, press office/pr). A Natale è uscito il nostro libro/annuario, che contiene i primi cinquanta articoli di Magmusic corredato da 150 foto.

Iniziative per musicisti emergenti?

[LZ] – Cerchiamo di dare anche spazio agli emergenti. Riceviamo molte email di artisti che ci chiedono una recensione. Purtroppo il livello generale dei demotape che riceviamo è piuttosto basso, quindi cerchiamo di recensire solo chi realmente merita. Amiamo credere con gesti concreti, nei più talentuosi. Per questo assistiamo ai loro live e ci confrontiamo con loro con consigli costruttivi o con un invito all’ascolto sul Magazine.

Très kitsch et rétro,la musique de Seaside Project évoque l’époque new wave d’il y a quelques années.La voix, très androgyne possède un je ne sais quoi qui fascine et elle me fait penser(Per noi) à Gary Numan par instants.Certes, Seaside Project n’a pas inventé la poudre et pour l’originalité faut écouté ailleurs.Mais pour le fun, c’est extra.

Seaside Project nous renvoie quelques années en arrière, de l’autre côté du Channel où les groupes, à l’époque, fleurissaient comme des champignons(OMD ou Tubeway Army pour ne citer qu’eux).Et l’artiste est tout à fait dans cet esprit.D’ailleurs la voix(je suis d’accord avec Balhaz intrigante)n’est pas sans rappeler cette époque un peu ambigüe.Et même si c’est effectivement passe partout, c’est terriblement frais et dépaysant.

La voce, sembra provenire dalla cantina. Troppo bassa rispetto alla musica, con le distorsioni non si capisce il testo, che in una canzone dovrebbe aver una qualche rilevanza. Atrimenti perchè perdere tempo a metterlo?
La musica. Quella mi piace molto, hai trovato uno stile che secondo me è gradevole. Dopo quanto detto sopra la mia preferenza va naturalmente ai brani completamente strumentali. Con due gemme che brillano:Danse with me e take a look..ecc. vers. piano. Giusto il piano. E’ un meraviglioso strumento, perchè non usarlo più spesso? Non è da tutti saper suonare il piano.

Ho ascoltato più volte “take a look at the sun” e devo dire che, soprattutto in alcuni punti, è riuscito a trasmettermi emozioni. Belli gli intrecci di synth e le melodie. Preferisco comunque la versione strumentale perché sento la voce un pò alienante rispetto al resto.
Interludio al rinnovamento/Ottawa è molto riuscita perché riesce a risultare sempre nuova nonostante il tema centrare si ripeta, complimenti… Per il resto, esprimento un parere da blasfemo, alzerei il volume della drum”

Sonidos sintéticos, ritmo bien marcado y bastante repetitiva que la hacen fácilmente bailable. Voz muy agradable y envolvente. Enhorabuena por un trabajo alegre.

I just came back from a short journey to Madrid. Well, the city is simply amazing, the people are very friendly and fortunately the hostel was placed in the real centre of the city, in a street named “Gran Via”, very close to la Puerta del Sol and the main touristic attractions (Prado Museum, Reina Sofia Museum, Thyessen gallery, Parco del Buen Ritiro, Atocha Central Station and much more). We slept there for two nights, from Friday to Sunday.

When we arrived at the hostel, we said we were Italian and everybody at the reception loughed off Berlusconi. What a shame to be Italian when you travel! After all, It has been a good opportunity to speak a bit of university base Spanish. Low cost airplanes are nice, but seats are a bit tight. The weather was luckily good, 18° with rare sudden rains. Prices were sensibly cheaper than Milan, and the famous “movida” really exists.
